A live isometric office for Hermes Desktop: every profile is a person at a desk — a profile doing real work sits typing with a lit terminal screen, an online-but-idle one relaxes in the lounge with tea, an offline one leaves an empty desk with a dark monitor. Click a desk to inspect that profile (state, sessions, tokens, cost) and open its chat or latest session; a cost/tokens leaderboard ranks the profiles; plus a global Total/Working/Idle/Offline overview, a status-bar chip, a palette command with keybind, a settings page, and an office_status agent tool that reports the same status to the model.
Good to know before installing
The backend and the tool read each profile's gateway_state.json and open its state.db read-only, running aggregate queries only (COUNT/SUM/MAX over the sessions table: counts, token totals, cost, last-activity); they never read message content, system prompts or titles, make no network calls, and need no credentials. Opening a profile's latest session asks the app's own session.list RPC for that session's id (metadata only) and then opens it through the app's own openSession; no message content is read. POSIX only (platforms: [linux, macos]) because the process-liveness check uses os.kill(pid, 0), which on Windows would terminate the target process.

Learn Hermes by doing real work. Four paths (Messenger, Traveler, Crossroads, Boundary Keeper) climb Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced to a capstone on a problem of your own, and a fifth, Guide, covers setting Hermes up for a client: practice labs built from made-up data, a proposal, one real service run by a scheduled job for several days, a recovery drill, and a review signed by a reviewer you choose. Every mission ends with a check on something you made; your own Hermes scores your written answers in a new chat; passed missions come back for short spaced reviews; and at the end of a path you can create a Field Record, your own self-issued learning record. Field Academy is an independent community plugin. It is not made, issued or endorsed by Nous Research.
Good to know before installing
No network calls (a source link opens in your browser only when you click it); no credentials, telemetry, shell commands, background processes or self-updates; registers six tools, two hooks, the /academy command and one skill: pre_llm_call may add one sentence offering a practice to the user message, only in interactive desktop, TUI and CLI sessions, and post_tool_call records which tool was used; pressing Try it or a scoring button opens a new chat and sends the practice or scoring prompt there (on an older Hermes it goes to the clipboard instead); the Desktop page calls gateway list methods only (session.list, cron.manage list, skills.manage list, tools.list, mcp.catalog, commands.catalog, setup.runtime_check); stores progress, pasted documents, practice labs, review packets and saved Field Records in $HERMES_HOME/plugin-data/field-academy/; reads a file you name (UTF-8 text, max 5 MiB) and hashes a recording you name without copying it; Guide labs write and check made-up .env and auth.json files inside its own labs folder (refusing to build in a real Hermes home) and never read Hermes's real ones; on the Guide path reads Hermes's run-history database read-only, jobs.json and up

Cloud Files for Hermes Desktop — browse, search and sort by date, create folders and bulk-upload files and whole folders to the machine your agent runs on, preview its images, PDFs and code files, download a file, read and edit its Markdown and text files (view first; nothing is written until you press Save in the review, which shows the line diff for files up to 20,000 lines), drag files into the chat, import files from the agent's own Google Drive, and hand the agent file locations from the chat + menu without re-uploading. Built for remote gateways (token or sign-in); works locally too. Ships one plugin skill, hermes-cloud-file-manager:cloud-file-manager-report-problem, which drafts a bug report and files it with the GitHub CLI only after the user approves the exact text.

Adds a file API to the gateway (dashboard plugin routes under the gateway's existing auth) over the agent's working folders: the configured roots, else terminal.cwd, TERMINAL_CWD or MESSAGING_CWD, else the gateway user's home with its dot-entries hidden. It lists, sorts and searches those folders, reads the files you open or preview (Markdown and .txt files up to 1 MiB in the editor; the first 1 MiB of other code and text files; images and PDFs up to 10 MiB), creates folders, and writes uploads, Drive imports and editor saves (staged as hidden .cfm-* temp files in the destination folder; a name clash keeps both files). It overwrites only an existing .md/.markdown/.txt file you open and explicitly Save in its editor (refused if the file changed since you opened it). It has no delete action: it removes only its own .cfm-* staging files and folders (aborted ones, and stale ones over a day old) and, when an upload or import fails to publish, the empty file it had reserved for it. It never follows links out of those folders, and its file API never exposes the agent's Hermes home apart from a working folder set inside it (roots, terminal.cwd, or a workspace/ folder it creates when the wo

Explicit user clicks load YouTube and its normal service/CDN requests in the native Browser; this plugin does not read credentials, cookies, recommendations or watch history. Good to know before installing
Stores your pasted AniList token in the active profile .env (sent only to graphql.anilist.co); alerts and the daily digest are Hermes cron jobs it creates on the host you pick, and the digest job asks that host's agent to query the public AniList API itself.

Practice Lincoln-Douglas debate. A case workbench helps a student build their own case section by section (resolution analysis, value and criterion, contentions, evidence, blocks) with a coach that gives real help and asks hard questions but never writes the case. A topic briefing maps a new resolution for both sides. A full NSDA practice round (AC, cross-examination, NC, 1AR, NR, 2AR, with prep time) runs against an AI opponent at three levels, followed by a ballot from a lay, traditional or flow judge. A fallacies guide, drill and spotter work on the student's own case and on other people's arguments. Cases are kept in a library with Word, text and backup-file export. Every model call goes to the user's own Hermes model through the plugin LLM helper. Debate Workbench is an independent community plugin. It is not made or endorsed by Nous Research or the National Speech & Debate Association.
Good to know before installing
One network call of its own: when the user adds a topic source link, it fetches that one public web page (http or https, public addresses only, checked on every redirect, 20-second timeout, first 30,000 characters of text kept); no credentials, telemetry, shell commands, background processes or self-updates; registers no tools, hooks or middleware, only a Desktop page and a dashboard API; stores cases, rounds, ballots and briefings in $HERMES_HOME/plugin-data/ld-workbench/; reads a .docx or .txt case file or a backup file only when the user picks one; writes an export only to a path the user picks in the save dialog, inside their home folder; the optional dictation button uses the speech recognition built into the desktop app's browser engine when that engine provides it, which may send the audio to that engine's speech service; no private Hermes imports.

Local Markdown vault workspace for Hermes Desktop: visual editing, progressive reading, cached image previews, optional per-conversation workspaces, pinned tabs, explicit selection quoting, tag search, links, backlinks and a graph. Compatible with Obsidian vaults. File transport requires a Linux/macOS gateway; Windows Desktop requires a WSL-hosted Unix backend, not a native Windows gateway; ffmpeg thumbnails are optional. Community plugin, not a Nous product. On the first `hermes workbench` run and again after each Hermes update it runs `npm install --ignore-scripts` (guided by Hermes's lockfile) and Vite against your Hermes checkout's desktop sources, writing only under ~/.hermes/hermes-workbench and its own plugin dir (the checkout is only read), and starts `hermes dashboard` on loopback when none is running.

A cozy pixel-art companion garden for Hermes Desktop with three starters, nicknames, fetch, berries, XP, and optional evolution through all nine starter forms. The companion keeps you company on long turns, reacts quietly to failures, to what Hermes is doing and to turns finishing in other chats, and lives through seasons with real day length and moon phases, offline showers, wild visitors it greets in character, old-friend cameos, keepsakes, milestones that leave a bench, a lantern and bunting in the garden, and a sapling that grows with the days. Reachable from the keyboard, the status bar and the command palette. Independent fan project bundling CHUNSOFT Pokémon sprites and SpriteCollab community contributions; artwork is excluded from the source-code MIT license. Uses local plugin storage and read-only session activity, with no runtime network requests, credentials, backend, or model calls.

Mini-Plexamp for Hermes Desktop: statusbar player for your Plex music library — likes synced to Liked Songs, custom playlists with rename/delete, shuffle + repeat, sleep timer, queue editing, OS media keys. Needs only Plex Media Server. Zero API keys, zero model tokens.
Good to know before installing
Talks only to the Plex Media Server you configure (default http://127.0.0.1:32400), sending your Plex token in the request URL as Plex requires; the token is stored in Desktop plugin storage, and the optional "Get token…" button reads the Plex `.LocalAdminToken` file you pick. A small spider that lives on the Hermes Desktop window: a web that grows with tool calls, helper spiders for subagents, an amber mood while Hermes waits for approval, spider-sense for risky commands, flies, napping. By default it roams only its own overlay and reads nothing from the app; walking between the app's real buttons and links is an opt-in setting (off by default). Desktop-only (desktop/plugin.js inside the plugin SDK surface); no agent tools, hooks, middleware or env vars.
Good to know before installing
Draws an animated overlay on the Desktop window and reads gateway events (tool runs, subagents, approval waits, risky-command flags) and the app's theme colours; the opt-in "Explore the app" setting (off by default) also scans the window's buttons, links and alert banners, including button labels, to walk to them.

Hermes Desktop Gmail mailbox UI for search, reading, and thread inspection, with preview-confirmed send, reply, archive, trash, and label changes. Uses the active profile's existing Google Workspace OAuth setup; email is sensitive external content. Gmail actions and data access require user review and configuration.
Good to know before installing
Reads the active profile's Hermes Google Workspace token (google_token.json, refreshed in memory only) and calls the Gmail API; opening an unread message marks it read, other send/trash/label changes go through a confirm step (one setting can skip every review dialog, and then the prepare ticket, account/profile binding, exact snapshot validation and readback verification still run); remote email images load only after the user allows them. Attachment metadata listing and bounded read-only attachment download (25 MB cap) are profile/account-scoped.

Selection-definition lookup for Hermes Desktop. Select any text, get an AI definition with sources in a popup. Renders the definition inline, runnable code aside. Backend is a stateless hermes insight CLI; panel, providers, and one-click model picking are configurable.
Good to know before installing
Definitions are generated with your configured provider keys (the selected term, your format template and optional web-search results are sent to that provider) via a short-lived `hermes insight` CLI run; no background process remains. Email and chat-message drafts as reviewable cards in the Hermes Desktop chat. The agent's draft_card tool stores each draft and its revisions; the card shows recipients, subject and body, highlights the words each revision changed (removed text on demand), supports inline editing, and offers Copy and Open in Mail. The plugin never sends anything: pressing Send records approval of that exact version and posts it to the chat, then the agent sends it with the user's existing mail or messaging tools and reports the outcome with draft_card_status.
Good to know before installing
Stores draft text (recipients, subject, body, versions) in the profile's plugin-data/draft-cards/drafts.db (the 500 most recent drafts are kept); the desktop half appends one scoped stylesheet, removed on disable; no network calls, no credentials, no shell commands, no background processes, no telemetry.

Native Anatomy community gallery with search, local favorites and explicit sandboxed standalone playback.
Good to know before installing
When opened it fetches gallery metadata and thumbnails from a third-party GitHub repository (wheresryan22/anatomy-community, resolved at runtime from its mutable previews branch via api.github.com and raw.githubusercontent.com). "Open figure in Hermes" downloads that community figure's HTML and runs its JavaScript inside the Desktop SDK sandbox (opaque origin, scripts only), and "Browse Ryan's website" embeds skills.wheresryan.sh the same way. No-Limit Texas Hold 'Em for Hermes Desktop: play with three isolated Hermes profile agents using play chips only. Agent decisions use configured models and may consume provider tokens; this is a local game, not gambling software.
Good to know before installing

Good to know before installing
Reads local Hermes data outside its own directory (kanban.db, every profile's state.db, profile.yaml, config.yaml model/effort, logs/agent.log, bot-status.json) on each dashboard poll: every /replay or /events request (about every 10 s while the tab is open) runs the bundled Python extractor as a subprocess (argument list, no shell, 30 s timeout); a background thread samples bot-status.json every 30 s (HERMES_QUEST_SAMPLER=off disables it) and writes bot-status history, checkpoint state, a lock and a random 0600 HMAC key under <hermes_home>/hermes-quest/ (not yet plugin-data); profile names and task titles are hidden unless enabled and only shown to host-authenticated dashboard sessions; the Desktop page works only on an explicit local connection; no network calls beyond the local Hermes backend.

Telegram client pane for Hermes Desktop: dialogs, message history with image previews and per-post image reload, forum topics, and reviewed send/reply/save/delete/mark-as-read actions via a dedicated Telethon user session (separate from the core gateway bot token). All history is sanitized before rendering.
Good to know before installing
The profile dashboard backend reads dialogs and message history and downloads media for in-page previews (page byte-budgeted and cached in memory); TELEGRAM_API_ID/TELEGRAM_API_HASH come from the profile's Hermes secrets; login challenges stay in process memory; the dedicated Telethon session lives in HERMES_HOME/telegram-plugin-auth/ (directory 0700, .session and its -wal/-shm sidecars 0600), and anyone holding that session file controls the Telegram account; delete removes the selected message for everyone; mutations go prepare -> exact preview -> confirm -> commit -> readback, and the pane's "Confirm actions" switch (on by default) can turn the preview step off; message links open in the system browser (http and https only).

Probe.py re-executes itself under the Hermes Python interpreter located via HERMES_PYTHON / VIRTUAL_ENV / the parent process or the Hermes installer's managed venv (HERMES_HOME/installs). Every credential read is read-only and nothing is refreshed or stored: it reads provider API keys from the process environment, the Hermes .env, the Vaultwarden plugin's local secret cache (cache/vaultwarden_cache.json, only when Vaultwarden is the sole enabled secret source, keyed by a hash of BW_SESSION, which is never sent) and Docker s6 container env files; Hermes's saved OAuth logins (auth.json credential pool and HERMES_HOME/.anthropic_oauth.json); and other coding-assistant CLIs' local logins: Claude Code (credentials file, macOS keychain or Windows Credential Manager), Codex, Cursor (macOS keychain and the IDE's state.vscdb, opened read-only), Kimi, Grok, ZCode and Command Code. For GitHub Copilot (on by default) it tries COPILOT_GITHUB_TOKEN / GH_TOKEN / GITHUB_TOKEN (through Hermes get_secret, else the process environment), then the Copilot editor's apps.json / hosts.json, then runs gh auth token (prompts disabled, 3-second limit), trying each token in turn until GitHub accepts one. Desktop workbench for the Honcho memory behind the focused chat: read the newest conclusions, trace their premises, search messages, ask scoped questions, and add confirmed corrections or source files. Uses each profile's existing Honcho provider configuration.
Good to know before installing
Talks only to the Honcho server each profile is already configured for, through Hermes's own Honcho client and credentials, and polls it about every 10 seconds for the focused chat while Desktop is open. Ask runs a Honcho reasoning call that may use credits. Add fact/correction and Add to session write to Honcho only after you confirm the target in a dialog; Add to session uploads the text or PDF/JSON/text file you choose. A chat from another local profile is read with that profile's own Honcho configuration, only where this plugin is enabled. It reads the focused chat's title and folder from the profile's session database, read-only. No telemetry.

Windows desktop plugin that switches which Codex login and which Claude subscription account every local Hermes profile uses, with one idle-only, verified restart of the gateway (and, on Hermes before 0.22, of Hermes Desktop). Refuses while any profile is busy, restores the previous selection if a step fails, and writes a receipt that says whether the switch took effect.
Good to know before installing
Windows only. A switch rewrites, through Hermes's own commands, the Codex credential order in every profile's auth.json and the CLAUDE_SUBSCRIPTION_DIRECTSDK_CONFIG_DIR line in every profile's .env, so every profile that has the plugin enabled spends the same selected Codex login and the same Claude login (one Hermes-owned claude-auth folder; no token is copied between profiles). It reads Codex tokens from each profile's auth.json. On Hermes 0.22 and later it stops and restarts the gateway once Hermes's own idle proof and the gateway's drain report idle, and Hermes Desktop stays open and reconnects; on earlier Hermes it also reads the Desktop backends' dashboard session token from their process environment and closes and reopens Hermes Desktop (work started in the seconds after the idle check is cut off). It sends the target Codex token to OpenAI's usage endpoint and Claude login tokens to Anthropic's OAuth profile endpoint (also when the setup screen opens); if the target Claude login has expired it first runs the claude CLI once so the CLI renews its own token, which rotates that login's refresh token. No telemetry and no automatic account rotation.

The gateway fetches public data from fixed hosts (earthquake.usgs.gov, eonet.gsfc.nasa.gov, gdacs.org, api.weather.gov, data.gdeltproject.org, api.adsb.lol, celestrak.org, services.swpc.noaa.gov, api.tfl.gov.uk and api.data.gov.sg (camera lists), and camera stills from TfL's JamCams bucket on s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com and images.data.gov.sg, fetched only by camera id for a camera the user opens, api.worldbank.org, the BBC, Al Jazeera, DW, Guardian and France 24 RSS feeds, api.coingecko.com, and api.twelvedata.com with the key in a header when set), cached and only while the page is open or a tool is called, with a hermes-osint-map User-Agent; recon sends the domain, IP, CVE id, GitHub name or MAC prefix the user or agent enters to dns.google, rdap.org, crt.sh, cve.circl.lu, cisa.gov, ipwho.is, api.github.com and api.macvendors.com, and the TLS and headers lookups connect directly to the host named, refusing private, loopback, link-local, CGNAT and other internal addresses on every redirect, on ports 443/8443 (TLS) and 80/443/8080/8443 (headers) only; GDELT incidents are machine-coded from news coverage and labelled as such; the page keeps its layer choices in Desktop plugin storag

A live board your agent builds for you: tabs of notes, tables, charts, KPI cards and live Hermes data, in the dashboard and Hermes Desktop. It appears as a Board tab in the dashboard and a page in Desktop, and the agent lays it out with 19 native boardstate_* tools, approval widgets included. Runs a local Node >= 20 sidecar on loopback with a per-spawn nonce; no network access unless you opt in to operator-gated connectors.
Good to know before installing
Spawns a local Node.js ≥20 sidecar (from PATH/HERMES_NODE_BIN, nothing downloaded) on 127.0.0.1 on first use; state under HERMES_HOME/boardstate-state/. Reads the dashboard's loopback session token from Hermes internals (web_server._SESSION_TOKEN) and passes it to the sidecar for live usage/sessions/cron widgets; mounts one token-gated static route for approved widget assets. No outbound network unless you author boardstate.connectors.json (stdio/HTTP MCP connectors); connector actions need operator approval. Ships one plugin skill, boardstate:boardstate-report-problem, which drafts a bug report and files it with the GitHub CLI only after the user approves the exact text.

Extends Hermes Agent API capabilities to deliver a richer chat interface with Talaria WebUI.
Good to know before installing
Adds API_SERVER_KEY-authenticated /talaria/v1 routes to the Hermes API server (cross-session history search, rewind/branch/compress of API sessions, runs with the profile's instructions and prefill); stores response metadata (no message bodies) in $HERMES_HOME/talaria/observations.db; relies on private api_server/AIAgent internals behind feature detection.

Per-provider quota / rate-limit status via /quota command and desktop widget. Reads precomputed quota_cache.json so the widget never does network I/O.
Good to know before installing
Refreshes your Gemini OAuth token using the Gemini CLI's public client identity, in memory only; queries Copilot's internal usage endpoint with VS Code client headers and Anthropic's OAuth usage endpoint using the hermes-quota-plugin User-Agent, caching Anthropic usage responses and rate-limit cooldowns in the Hermes root directory keyed by a token hash so profiles sharing one Claude login share them; optional additional Claude accounts read access tokens only from explicitly configured Claude Code credentials files and send them only to Anthropic's fixed OAuth usage endpoint (read-only, no refresh-token exchange or credential write-back; tokens and paths excluded from the quota cache). Linux extra accounts verified; Windows experimental, extra macOS Keychain accounts unsupported. The openai-codex check reads every saved Codex account from Hermes' own auth.json credential pool (read-only, never refreshed; expired accounts show reauth-required) and queries the Codex usage endpoint with the codex-cli User-Agent; when a Codex account is configured, each refresh also fetches public Codex reset announcements from the third-party site codex-resets.com (anonymous request, no credentials s

A Miro-like board the agent draws with its own tools and you edit in a desktop pane, both sides working on one JSON document. board_apply builds a whole diagram in one call from ordered ops (nodes, edges, free lines, groups, notes, captions, layered auto-layout, bus trunks); board_render writes a PNG for chat or the interactive HTML editor; board_watch reports your own pane edits back to the agent. The pane docks beside the conversation with the same editor, saves your edits, and takes agent updates live.
Good to know before installing
Board_render shells out to a headless Chrome/Chromium already on PATH (nothing is downloaded; private temp profile, sandbox kept unless running as root) for PNG and self-test rendering; boards live in ~/.hermes/board/ shared across profiles (HERMES_BOARD_DIR / HERMES_BOARD_RENDER_DIR / HERMES_BOARD_WATCH override); serves /api/plugins/hermes-board/ on the plugin host; reads this profile's state.db read-only to find the session board_watch should wake; no external network calls and no stored credentials; board_watch's wake into a messaging chat additionally needs plugins.entries.hermes-board.allow_gateway_injection: true.
