Hermes Insight
Selection-definition lookup for Hermes Desktop. Select any text, get an AI definition with sources in a popup. Renders the definition inline, runnable code aside. Backend is a stateless hermes insight CLI; panel, providers, and one-click model picking are configurable.
Good to know before installing
Definitions are generated with your configured provider keys (the selected term, your format template and optional web-search results are sent to that provider) via a short-lived `hermes insight` CLI run; no background process remains. When web search is on it also queries your configured searxng instance and fetches result thumbnails from their image hosts, inlining them into the panel; nothing is fetched without a searxng URL.

How to install
- Install it. Hermes asks for any API keys it needs, then asks whether to turn it on.
hermes plugins install hermes-insight - Said no? Turn it on later:
hermes plugins enable hermes-insight - Restart Hermes so it loads the plugin.
Some plugins also need a sign-in or settings: see Full setup & settings. Memory plugins ask whether to become your memory provider instead. Steps follow the official plugins guide (opens in a new tab).
