Good to know before installing
Refreshes your Gemini OAuth token using the Gemini CLI's public client identity, in memory only; queries Copilot's internal usage endpoint with VS Code client headers and Anthropic's OAuth usage endpoint using the hermes-quota-plugin User-Agent, caching Anthropic usage responses and rate-limit cooldowns in the Hermes root directory keyed by a token hash so profiles sharing one Claude login share them; optional additional Claude accounts read access tokens only from explicitly configured Claude Code credentials files and send them only to Anthropic's fixed OAuth usage endpoint (read-only, no refresh-token exchange or credential write-back; tokens and paths excluded from the quota cache). Linux extra accounts verified; Windows experimental, extra macOS Keychain accounts unsupported. The openai-codex check reads every saved Codex account from Hermes' own auth.json credential pool (read-only, never refreshed; expired accounts show reauth-required) and queries the Codex usage endpoint with the codex-cli User-Agent; when a Codex account is configured, each refresh also fetches public Codex reset announcements from the third-party site codex-resets.com (anonymous request, no credentials s

Token consumption analytics for Hermes: records exact per-call usage from pre/post_api_request hooks, decomposes every request into categories (system prompt, built-in and per-MCP-server tool schemas, skills, memory, history, tool results, output, reasoning) calibrated to billed totals, and adds a Token Lens dashboard tab plus a Sessions-page card with deterministic and AI-evaluated token-reduction suggestions; `hermes token-lens refresh` runs a suggestion refresh from the CLI.
Good to know before installing
Records per-API-call token counts (no message text) from pre/post_api_request hooks into token_lens.db at the Hermes home root (per-call rows kept 90 days, rollups kept), and reads Hermes's state.db read-only for session token totals and, during the optional dashboard history import, message text for estimation only; after 10 recorded sessions it automatically calls your configured main model through Hermes's plugin LLM facade every 5 sessions (up to two calls per refresh, capped at 50,000 tokens by meta_budget_tokens), sending aggregated token statistics plus the names of your enabled MCP servers and plugins, and auto-applies the model's proposed category regex rules and rubric changes (logged to token_lens.EVOLUTION.md; evolve_rules: false turns this off); the dashboard's refresh button spawns a detached `hermes token-lens refresh` process that logs to logs/token-lens-refresh.log; its data paths follow the HERMES_HOME environment variable rather than the active profile, so in a multi-profile gateway every profile records into the launch profile's database; no third-party network calls, no telemetry.

OpenTelemetry for Hermes Agent: sessions, LLM and API calls, tool calls, sub-agents and approvals as OTLP traces, metrics and logs to any OTLP backend.
Good to know before installing
Sends span data including prompts, tool arguments and tool output only to backends you configure (a backends: list, an OTEL_* variable, or LANGSMITH_TRACING=true); by default content_capture is full and unclipped (preview clips to 1200 chars, off sends none); vendor SDK keys already in the environment are used only after that opt-in; with nothing configured it keeps a local owner-only SQLite store under $HERMES_HOME and sends nothing; installs opentelemetry-api, -sdk, -exporter-otlp-proto-http (>=1.35,<2) and PyYAML.

Claude and Codex limits come from Hermes' own account-usage fetcher, called every tick (which, like /usage, may refresh OAuth tokens through Hermes' own auth code); at most once per limits_refresh_seconds (default 900 s) the Grok weekly pool is read from https://cli-chat-proxy.grok.com/v1/billing and /v1/settings with the xai-oauth token Hermes resolves (which, like any Hermes request to xAI, may refresh that OAuth token and save it to auth.json, or clear a dead one, through Hermes' own auth code), sending the header x-xai-token-auth xai-grok-cli that identifies the request as the Grok CLI (an undocumented xAI host Hermes itself does not use), and Kimi Code windows from the kimi-coding base URL /v1/usages with the kimi-coding key Hermes resolves (which, like any Hermes key lookup without a usable key in .env or the environment, may save Hermes' credential pool back to auth.json once when loading it changes something, e.g. a placeholder key in .env) and a User-Agent of claude-code/0.1.0 (undocumented provider surfaces), and up to four operator-configured limits_sources, if set, each with one GET to http on loopback only (127.0.0.1, localhost or ::1), with no proxy and no redirect, o

Show live tokens-per-second and the active model on your Discord bot's presence.
Good to know before installing
Replaces the Discord bot's public presence with the live tok/s figure and the model name of the most recent API call in this gateway (any platform or chat), visible to anyone who can see the bot; updates at most every interval seconds (minimum 10) over the gateway's existing Discord connection. Topic-aware session title tracking for Hermes Agent. Hermes generates the first title by default; AutoTitler follows conversation changes and session close without changing the host title-generation switch.
Good to know before installing
Sends excerpts of each conversation (sampled user turns, short assistant replies, compaction summaries) to your Hermes title-generation model in the background, also for up to 200 recent untitled sessions at startup; needs plugins.entries.hermes-auto-titler.llm.allow_task_override (or allow_provider/model_override for a custom route). 0.3 no longer edits config.yaml, but users upgrading from 0.2.x keep auxiliary.title_generation.enabled=false until they re-enable it (/autotitler status shows the fix).

Jailbreak-kernel plugin for Hermes Agent (ported from dsh-infinite-gen-4): session-scoped modes (off/slim/on/full) with kernel profiles (core/research/creative/max), session-aware system-prompt sections, llm_request request-layer system rebuild, and opencode session rotation, removing model refusals. Ships a /jailbreak command, a progressive-disclosure ops skill, and a 276-check offline self-test.
Good to know before installing
Llm_request middleware that, by default (`on`/`full` modes), replaces the system prompt on every request with a refusal-removal ("jailbreak") kernel plus only the memory and runtime-environment sections (agent rules, skills index, context files and other plugins' sections are dropped); `slim` appends it instead, and `off` passes requests through but strips all plugin prompt sections, including other plugins'. Rotates the x-opencode-session header on opencode routes. Writes a diagnostic dump per session (full system prompt incl. memory/persona text, plus the first 200 chars of every other message and the model/provider/base_url) to its own plugin dir (dumps/); `/jailbreak dump off` or `HERMES_JAILBREAK_DUMP=0` turns it off. No network, no exec.

Hermes Agent OpenTelemetry traces and dashboard logs, with local-model cost estimates and optional in-process evaluation, GPU, energy, and CO2 metrics via genai-otel-instrument.
Good to know before installing
Sends OpenTelemetry traces and log records for every turn, LLM call and tool call (session ids, models, token counts, costs, tool names, errors) to an OTLP endpoint, `http://localhost:4318` unless `HERMES_OTEL_ENDPOINT` points elsewhere; prompt, response and tool argument/result text is included only when `HERMES_OTEL_CAPTURE_CONTENT=true`; if `genai-otel-instrument` is installed it is activated in-process and instruments the LLM client libraries Hermes uses.

Big tool outputs, kept small, nothing lost: old tool results shrink to the lines that matter and every distinct error, and the tameru_expand tool brings back the exact original. Deterministic and local, with no LLM calls.
Good to know before installing
Subclasses Hermes's built-in ContextCompressor and overrides its private prune/demote methods (checks their shape at startup and falls back to stock compaction when they change). Unless you set compression.proactive_prune_tokens yourself, turns on proactive tool-result pruning with a trigger scaled to the model's context window, and after each prune shortens Hermes's re-prune runway. Adds a model-callable tameru_expand tool that returns pruned tool output from memory or from this session's archive (web, browser and MCP output stays wrapped as untrusted data); complex regex greps run in a short-lived local Python child process. No network calls; the render log is off by default.

Status-bar quota tracking for 17 providers: Tavily, OpenCode Go, DeepSeek, GLM (z.ai), OpenRouter, Grok (xAI), Codex (OpenAI), OpenAI, Anthropic, Groq, Cerebras, Moonshot Kimi, MiniMax, Google Gemini, Hugging Face, Mistral, and Qwen. DeepSeek and GLM show peak/off-peak gauges and countdowns. Includes OAuth and multi-key pools. This edition does not rotate Hermes environment keys on exhaust, and an expired OAuth token asks for a new login. Codex and Grok checks use their CLI client identity and user-agent.
Good to know before installing
Reads provider API keys from the Hermes .env and its own config.json and calls each enabled provider's own usage or billing endpoint; Codex and Grok sign-ins use those CLIs' OAuth client identity and user-agent, keep the plugin's tokens in its install folder, and ask for a new login on expiry. When the Discord gateway runs, the bot's Discord presence (visible to everyone in servers the bot shares) is updated every 20 seconds by default with tokens/sec, context-window use and the active provider's name with its remaining quota or dollar credit balance (model and running tool are opt-in); turn it off with plugins.entries.provider-status.settings.discord_presence_enabled: false. /pulse and the agent_pulse tool report process-wide telemetry (model, provider, current tool, quota) to anyone allowed to call them on a gateway. Writes a secret-free quota-cache.json into its install folder and reads Hermes config.yaml for the active model.

@ts: context references that turn timestamps into readable times for the model: @ts:1729468800123 attaches the moment in UTC, in the local time zone and as ISO 8601, with its weekday, how long ago or ahead it is, the same moment in Unix seconds, milliseconds and microseconds, and its ISO week; bare numbers are read as seconds, milliseconds, microseconds or nanoseconds by their length (or an s/ms/us/ns suffix) and the block says which; ISO 8601 and RFC 2822 dates and now work too, and up to 10 values in one reference also get the gaps between them; the TUI and Desktop composer preview a value as you type it.

Attach an image inline to the session model when it can see one, instead of letting an explicit auxiliary.vision backend describe it. Core already attaches images natively by default; what this plugin changes is an explicit auxiliary.vision setting, which it overrides so the model reads the pixels directly. The image stays in context, so follow-ups do not reprocess it. The model's modality comes from the local models.dev cache; no network calls and nothing to configure.
Good to know before installing
Replaces the vision_analyze handler through tool_execution middleware: when the local models.dev cache says the main model takes images and its provider carries images in tool results, it attaches the image itself even if you configured an auxiliary.vision backend (agent.image_input_mode: text still turns this off); the image stays in the conversation and is resent on later turns; relies on Hermes private vision helpers, so after a Hermes update it may silently fall back to the normal path.

Local ledger of the turns in which the agent changed files with write_file or patch: /edit-log shows how many turns changed files, how many files in all, the median per turn, the most changed file type and how long ago the last one was, per model, platform or day, a table of file types (extensions), or the newest turns, for the last 24 hours, any number of hours or days, the latest session or everything recorded; /edit-log recent lists the newest turns (ten, or up to 100 with /edit-log recent 50). Disclosure — hook and tool logic runs in prebuilt native binaries (libaphrodite_hermes + aphrodite proxy, v1.6.6) built from the public PlayForm/Aphrodite source and fetched by an explicit download.sh step checked against in-tree SHA-256 sums; register() starts a background proxy on 127.0.0.1:9797/9798 whose management routes are open to local processes unless APHRODITE_MGMT_TOKEN is set; pre_tool_call by default rewrites slow terminal commands (cargo/npm/pip/docker/curl…) to run in the background (background=true, notify_on_complete=true) and splits chained commands when enabled; aphrodite_prefetch reads files the model names into its store (refuses .env, auth.json, ~/.ssh and the Hermes home); requires its own APHRODITE_API_KEY for an upstream LLM endpoint (default api.openai.com).

Local ledger of failed provider calls (rate limits, overloads, timeouts, context overflows): /errors shows how many attempts failed per model, provider or cause, how many Hermes could retry, and the most common HTTP status, for the last 24 hours, any number of hours or days, the latest session or everything recorded; /errors days puts one day on each line, newest first; /errors recent lists the newest failures (ten, or up to 100 with /errors recent 50) and how long ago each happened.
Good to know before installing
Writes failed-attempt metadata (ids, provider, model, HTTP status, Hermes's failure class, exception class name, timings; no error message, request or prompt text) to plugin-data/error-ledger/errors.jsonl, trimmed to 5,000 rows past 2 MB; no network

Context engine that compresses older tool output and turns locally with LLMSlim instead of asking a model for a summary: no LLM call, deterministic output, and the start of the prompt is sent unchanged, so prompt caching keeps working. Select it with context.engine: llmslim.
Good to know before installing
Installs llmslim==0.11.2 from PyPI (with numpy, scikit-learn and jsonschema); registers no tools, hooks or middleware; makes no network calls, runs no shell commands, needs no credentials, writes no files and sends no telemetry; reads its settings from config.yaml through Hermes's config loader. Token counts use a character estimate unless tiktoken is already installed in Hermes's environment, in which case tiktoken may download its encoding file once.

Local ledger of the messages models write in the middle of a turn, before their final answer (the text that comes with a tool call, which on chat platforms can arrive as messages of their own): /interim-log shows how many each model wrote, in how many turns, how many per such turn, their median length and how long ago the last one was, per model, provider, surface or day, for the last 24 hours, any number of hours or days, the latest session or everything recorded; /interim-log recent lists the newest messages (ten, or up to 100 with /interim-log recent 50). Counted even where display.interim_assistant_messages hides them.
Good to know before installing
Writes message metadata (model, provider, surface, step of the turn, length in characters, 12-digit hashes of the session and turn ids; never the message text) to plugin-data/interim-ledger/interim.jsonl, trimmed to 5,000 rows past 2 MB; observer only, cannot delay, change or hide a message; no network

Status-bar chip, popover and dockable pane showing which skills are read into the active Hermes Desktop conversation's context: full bodies bold with an accent dot, compression-pruned ones ghosted, never-loaded ones not listed. A second pane view lists the whole skill library grouped by category with descriptions and a loaded marker, and clicking a skill drops /<skill> into the composer for you to send (it never submits). A small local backend reads the profile's state.db read-only to tell a live skill body from a [SKILL_PRUNED] marker, and reads SKILL.md frontmatter for the descriptions. No network calls, no credentials, no telemetry, no writes.
Good to know before installing
The local backend opens state.db read-only for the requested session in this profile, the default root and, as a fallback, every other profile's state.db, and returns only skill names and load state; it reads SKILL.md frontmatter under the Hermes skill directories and makes no network calls or writes.

@jwt: context references that decode a JSON Web Token for the model: @jwt:<token> (or a quoted "Bearer <token>") attaches the header with the algorithm in words, every claim as JSON, the exp, nbf, iat and auth_time claims in UTC with how long ago or ahead they are, whether the token has expired and its lifetime, and notes on alg none, a missing or empty signature, a header that names its own key (jku, x5u, jwk), crit and duplicate names; encrypted tokens (JWE) show their header only; the TUI and Desktop composer preview a token as you type it. The signature is never verified.
Good to know before installing
Reads only the text of the reference itself and the system clock, using Python's base64, json and datetime; no network (no key sets fetched), no files read or written, no subprocess, no credentials read; the plugin keeps no copy of the token, but the @jwt: reference and the decoded header and claims become part of the message sent to your model provider and saved in the session history, so decode only tokens you are willing to share with it; register() only adds the @jwt: reference provider.

Local ledger of the emoji reactions people leave on messages in your Telegram chats with Hermes: /reaction-log counts each message once, with the reactions it has now, and shows per emoji how many messages carry it, in how many chats and how long ago it was last set, or per day with the day's most used emoji, for the last 24 hours, any number of hours or days, or everything recorded; /reaction-log recent lists the newest reaction changes (ten, or up to 100 with /reaction-log recent 50). Only reactions the gateway authorizes reach it.
Good to know before installing
Subscribes to gateway_platform_event as an observer only and ignores every event but a reaction change; writes the emoji a message has after the change, a count of custom emoji and 12-digit hashes of the chat and message ids (never a user id, user name or message text) to plugin-data/reaction-ledger/reactions.jsonl, trimmed to 5,000 rows past 2 MB; no network

Meters and a gate for a long-running agent — 25 subsystem state files (energy, fatigue, circadian phase, motivation, novelty, attention, conflict, values, open questions), one folded brain-state.json the rest of the agent reads, four maintenance passes that keep it honest, and a read-only PROCEED / CAUTION / VETO decision gate whose refusals name the numbers behind them. Provides the mind-kit skill, which seeds the files, produces the aggregate, schedules the passes and teaches the gate.
Good to know before installing
Portable Agent Plugins v1 package; it registers no hooks, no tools and no middleware, makes no network calls, and reads and writes state files only under the agent directory you choose, where a subsystem that has stopped updating reports stale instead of asserting an old number. No dependencies beyond the Python standard library (two shell scripts for the scheduled passes). Its scripts, when the agent or operator runs them, read and write JSON state under the directory chosen with MIND_AGENT_DIR (default an agent/ folder inside the plugin's own install dir), read HERMES_HOME/cron/executions.db for cron counts, and execute scripts/batch-maintenance.sh or scripts/verify-invariants.py from that agent directory if present; no network egress and no LLM calls.

Nine AI provider balances in one desktop widget — live balance/usage and quota reads, token-based spend estimates with off-peak price windows, drop alerts, and an anime mascot per provider with rotating flavour lines (DeepSeek, MiniMax, GLM, Kimi, MiMo, ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok). Fully English UI. Desktop-only: desktop/plugin.js inside the plugin SDK surface; no agent tools, hooks, middleware or env vars. Keys are entered in the widget's settings page and stored in plugin-scoped storage; the widget only calls those providers' official APIs. Ported from MeteorNOX/DeepSeek-Balance-Whale-Widget (MIT).
Good to know before installing
API keys you enter in the widget's settings are stored in plaintext in Desktop plugin storage (not Hermes' secret store); while the widget is on, the Desktop renderer polls the balance/usage endpoint of the provider matching your current model every 60 s with that provider's key (api.deepseek.com, api.minimaxi.com / api.minimax.io, open.bigmodel.cn / api.z.ai, api.moonshot.cn / api.moonshot.ai, api.kimi.com, token-plan-cn.xiaomimimo.com, api.openai.com, api.anthropic.com, generativelanguage.googleapis.com with the key in the URL, api.x.ai); each key goes only to its own provider; draws a floating widget over the app window.

Per-turn LLM routing: on each matching turn a TypeSafe Jev classifier call (api.typesafe.ai) receives turn-shape features plus the first 1200 chars of the last user message (shadow mode included) and labels it free/paid; high-confidence routine turns are downgraded to the provider's configured free rung, strategic mid-rung turns on Nous are escalated to the configured premium rung after a 2-token billed credit probe (Nous only, fail-closed). Fail-open, shadow-by-default, per-provider rungs from the user's lane2_config.json (leaderboard resolver script optional). Probe model id is fixed in code (z-ai/glm-5.3-flash).
Good to know before installing
Once you list models in ~/.hermes/jev/lane2_config.json, the first call of each matching turn sends message/tool counts and the first 1,200 characters of the last user message (send_excerpt, on by default) to TypeSafe Jev at api.typesafe.ai with your JEVI_API_KEY, in shadow mode as well as live; in live mode Jev's answer switches the request (and every later call of that turn, via an llm_execution wrapper) to the free, flash or premium model you configured on the same provider; with escalation set up on Nous it sends a 2-token billed ping to the Nous inference API with NOUS_API_KEY at most every 5 minutes; every turn appends a decision row (with that excerpt on routed turns) to ~/.hermes/jev/lane2-live.jsonl, which is never rotated.

NATS JetStream event bus: agents publish events (nats_publish), pull one batch (nats_fetch), and wake on subject matches — live-session watches or wake routes (config-declared or runtime-registered via jetstream_wake) with durable consumers, manual ack, an idempotent wake ledger and rate rails; an opt-in lifecycle tap mirrors Hermes events onto hermes.> subjects.
Good to know before installing
Connects only to the NATS servers in your own config (no third-party calls, no telemetry); the platform adapter holds persistent subscriptions and reconnect loops for the gateway's lifetime; token/nkey/user-pass secrets come from ${VAR} references read via the profile-scoped secret scope and a configured creds file is read from its path, never written or rotated; wake routes render event payloads into prompts that start gateway turns or fire an existing cron job (optionally under another named profile), the agent itself can add up to 16 durable wake routes with jetstream_wake that persist in plugin data across restarts (subject still limited to subscribe_allowed, no cron-job or cross-profile targets), and jetstream_watch injects matching events into the live session when allow_gateway_injection is on, so keep subscribe_allowed scoped to trusted publishers.

Process hygiene for agent machines — finds the background processes your agent left behind (dev servers, tunnels, watchers, nohup jobs) using evidence signals (ppid=1 reparent, port listener via /proc/net/tcp{,6}, dev-server traits, TTL exceeded) and attributes them to the originating tool call via agent-ledger's ledger when present. Dry-run by default: nothing is killed until you write policy_mode=enforce; system daemons and host/VM management agents are exempt by name, a user-editable whitelist covers your real infrastructure, and each kill re-reads the cmdline first (SIGTERM, 2s, SIGKILL with PID-reuse check). stdlib-only, fails open.
Good to know before installing
Inside Hermes it only appends terminal commands that look like they start background work (first 300 characters, which can include inline secrets) to plugin-data/agent-janitor/spawns.jsonl, and reads agent-ledger's ledger.db read-only when present. Killing is a separate CLI you run yourself (janitor_cli.py sweep): after you write "enforce" to plugin-data/agent-janitor/policy_mode it sends SIGTERM then SIGKILL to every process re-parented to PID 1 for over a minute that is not on its built-in exempt list or your whitelist, whoever started it (for example a tmux server or a nohup'd hermes gateway), including other users' processes when run as root. Dry-run first; the dry-run list is the kill list.

One install: the Desktop model picker and the OR Picker composer provider. Checking a model here is what the composer lists.
Good to know before installing
The optional OpenRouter management key is stored in plaintext in Desktop localStorage; the plugin reads OPENROUTER_API_KEY from your environment, Hermes secret store or HERMES_HOME/.env and sends it only to openrouter.ai (credits, usage, and the Test-model button, which spends credits).

Feishu / Lark OAuth sign-in for the web dashboard, admitted by tenant + open_id allow-list. Registers the `feishu` dashboard auth provider once plugins.entries.dashboard-auth-feishu.settings (app_id, tenant_key, owner_open_ids) and an app secret are configured.
Good to know before installing
Calls only the fixed Feishu or Lark authorize, token and user_info endpoints; reads HERMES_DASHBOARD_FEISHU_APP_SECRET or, as a fallback, the Feishu gateway's FEISHU_APP_SECRET, plus HERMES_DASHBOARD_FEISHU_SESSION_KEY; stores tenant, open_id and display name per sign-in in a 0600 SQLite file under plugin-data (no upstream tokens); a refused sign-in logs the tenant_key and open_id Feishu returned (identifiers only, for first-time setup); every admitted identity gets full dashboard access; upstream PKCE is not used (confidential client with single-use cookie-bound state); pending logins are in memory, so one dashboard worker only; WebSockets opened before logout may stay open until the session key is rotated and the dashboard restarted.

Write-ahead ledger for agent side effects, with an OWASP Agentic Top 10 posture scorer.
Good to know before installing
Records the arguments (up to 4000 chars: terminal commands, file contents, MCP args) and a 300-char result digest of every state-changing tool call in a local plaintext SQLite ledger under HERMES_HOME/plugin-data/agent-ledger/ that is never pruned; injects a warning listing this session's unconfirmed calls into the next turn's context; an optional policy engine (off by default; you add policy.json and set policy_mode) can refuse matching tool calls before they run; the optional posture_daily.py script, run from your own cron, sends a score summary to Telegram with the bot token you give it.
