Pep Ref

@pep:<number> context references: attach a Python Enhancement Proposal to a message (status, type, authors, Python version and its first section, usually the Abstract), or one section with @pep:<number>#<section>, with PEP number and title autocomplete in the TUI and Desktop composer.

Good to know before installing

Sends HTTPS GET requests to peps.python.org only (the PEP index and the referenced PEP's page; section names and autocomplete text are matched locally); keeps the index in memory for an hour; no API key, no files written, no subprocess; register() only adds the @pep: reference provider.

How to install

  1. Install it. Hermes asks for any API keys it needs, then asks whether to turn it on.
    hermes plugins install pep-ref
  2. Said no? Turn it on later:
    hermes plugins enable pep-ref
  3. Restart Hermes so it loads the plugin.

Some plugins also need a sign-in or settings: see Full setup & settings. Memory plugins ask whether to become your memory provider instead. Steps follow the official plugins guide (opens in a new tab).
