Search the public web, read pages as Markdown, crawl sites, and convert documents in Hermes. No API key required.
Good to know before installing
Search queries, submitted URLs and explicitly approved local file uploads go to the public markdown.new service; needs the companion markdown-new CLI (uv tool install from the same repo tag), which the plugin runs as a subprocess with the Hermes process environment.

How to install
- Install it. Hermes asks for any API keys it needs, then asks whether to turn it on.
hermes plugins install markdown-new - Said no? Turn it on later:
hermes plugins enable markdown-new - Restart Hermes so it loads the plugin.
Some plugins also need a sign-in or settings: see Full setup & settings. Memory plugins ask whether to become your memory provider instead. Steps follow the official plugins guide (opens in a new tab).
