WhatsApp Voice Calls

Plugin · Community, by ashwanthbalakrishnan5 ·  · 0:36

Transcript

Two voices and sound effects, no music. The voices are synthetic stand-ins made for this video, and their words also appear on screen. Spoken lines are quoted with who says them; the rest describes what's on screen.

  1. At 0:00

Fade in on a phone lying on a wooden desk beside a coffee cup. It rings with an incoming WhatsApp audio call from "Hermes", with Decline and Accept buttons.

  2. At 0:03

Caption: "Hermes is calling." A small label above it says this is new in the Hermes plugin catalog.

  3. At 0:04

The call connects and a timer starts. Hermes: "Morning. Quick heads-up before your day starts. Your 10:30 with the design team just moved to 2." The words appear as a caption card beside the phone.

  4. At 0:11

You: "Ah. Okay. Can you push my gym session to 5, then?" The line appears in a caption card labeled "You".

  5. At 0:14

Hermes: "Done. Gym is at 5. I'll send you a recap in the chat." A status chip reads "Moving your gym session", then turns into a green check with "Gym moved to 5:00 PM".

  6. At 0:18

    You: "Perfect. Thanks."

  7. At 0:20

    Hermes: "Talk soon."

  8. At 0:22

The screen shows "Call ended". A WhatsApp notification from Hermes reads "Call recap: your 10:30 with the design team moved to 2:00 PM. Gym moved to 5:00 PM."

  9. At 0:25

Title card for the plugin "hermes-whatsapp-voice": "Live calls over regular WhatsApp." Below it: "A community plugin. No business account needed."

  10. At 0:27

Three cards: "Only calls you." (it can only ring the owner number you set), "Works mid-call." (ask for something and Hermes handles it while you talk) and "Recap after." (a short summary lands in your WhatsApp chat).

  11. At 0:31

End card: "@HermesWatcher" on a dark background.

Live voice calls with Hermes over regular WhatsApp, no Business account needed. Call it, or let it ring you when something matters. It can only call your number, and sends a recap after.

Linux and macOS. Runs on an unofficial WhatsApp connection; speech uses Gemini Live with your Gemini key.

HermesWatcher @HermesWatcher ·
Okay, Hermes making phone calls is unreal.Hermes doesn't have to wait for you to check in anymore. It can just call you.A new plugin in the Hermes catalog, hermes-whatsapp-voice, gives Hermes live voice calls over regular WhatsApp. No business account needed. What that looks like:
  • It rings you when something actually needs you, like an urgent reminder or a scheduled morning check-in
  • You can call it back and have it handle things mid-call
  • When you hang up, a recap lands in your WhatsApp chat
  • It can only ring your number. Nobody else's
Notifications pile up and get swiped away. A ringing phone gets answered. It's community-built and runs on an unofficial WhatsApp connection, so set it up on a spare number.
