Memory Pane

  1. At 0:00

    Title on a dark navy page: "See what Hermes remembers." A memory card reads "Remembered" in Notes: "Sam's staging database: Postgres 16, port 5433." with Edit and Undo buttons.

  2. At 0:01

    "Fix it on the spot." The card switches to "Updated": "Sam's staging database: Postgres 16 on port 5434 (moved off 5433 in Oct 2026)." The old entry is crossed out below.

  3. At 0:03

    "Every memory, live, beside the chat." Hermes Desktop shows a chat on the left and the Memory Pane on the right.

  4. At 0:04

    A chat message introduces Sam, a backend engineer in Berlin, and gives the staging database details. The pane's "This chat" list adds two "Remembered" entries, which also appear under "All memory".

  5. At 0:07

    "Tell Hermes. Watch it update." The user sends "Quick update: staging moved to port 5434 last week."

  6. At 0:09

    Hermes saves it to memory and replies that staging is now Postgres 16 on port 5434. A dotted line links the reply to a new "Updated" entry in the pane, and the old note is marked "No longer in memory."

  7. At 0:12

    Blue screen: "Edit it." "Rewrite any memory in place." In "All memory", the Notes entry is cleared and rewritten as "Staging DB: Postgres 16 on port 5434."

  8. At 0:16

    Red screen: "Delete it." "Gone from what Hermes knows." The "About you" entry is deleted and the section shows "Empty."

  9. At 0:19

    Green screen: "Undo it." "Undo what Hermes changed." Undo is clicked on the "Updated" card and it shows "Undoing...".

  10. At 0:22

    Black screen: "Stays on your machine." A flow runs "memory call", "MEMORY.md / USER.md", "changes.sqlite3", "the pane".

  11. At 0:25

    End card: "Now in the Hermes plugin catalog", "Memory Pane", "for Hermes Desktop". A terminal types "hermes plugins install Adolanium/hermes-memory-pane --enable", with "Open it with Ctrl + J" below.

  12. At 0:30

    After a blank white frame, the video closes on "@HermesWatcher".

A Hermes Desktop pane that shows what Hermes remembered, updated or forgot in each chat. You can edit, delete or undo any memory entry without leaving the conversation.

Works with the built-in memory; it is not a memory provider.

Install from the catalog

hermes plugins install hermes-memory-pane

It asks whether to turn the plugin on: say yes, then restart Hermes if it tells you to. The bare name installs the reviewed, pinned catalog version.
