Lib Docs

Look up current library docs from public npm and PyPI (no API keys). Resolve a package, fetch README and metadata, keep recent lookups on Desktop.

Good to know before installing

HTTPS to registry.npmjs.org, pypi.org and cdn.jsdelivr.net (npm READMEs) only; package name and version leave the machine; recent lookups are stored under $HERMES_HOME/plugin-data/lib-docs; the Desktop pane inserts text through Hermes Desktop's internal hermes:composer-insert event (not a public SDK API).

From the plugin's catalog listing.

How to install

  1. Install it. Hermes asks for any API keys it needs, then asks whether to turn it on.
    hermes plugins install lib-docs
  2. Said no? Turn it on later:
    hermes plugins enable lib-docs
  3. Restart Hermes so it loads the plugin.

Some plugins also need a sign-in or settings: see Full setup & settings. Memory plugins ask whether to become your memory provider instead. Steps follow the official plugins guide (opens in a new tab).
