Hydradb

Long-term memory for Hermes, backed by HydraDB. Relevant context is recalled before each turn, and completed turns are saved in the background.

Good to know before installing

When selected as the memory provider, each turn's user message (as the recall query) and every completed user/assistant turn are sent over HTTPS to the HydraDB API (api.hydradb.com, or HYDRADB_BASE_URL) under HYDRADB_API_KEY.

How to install

  1. Install it. Hermes asks for any API keys it needs (this one needs HYDRADB_API_KEY, HYDRADB_DATABASE), then asks whether to turn it on.
    hermes plugins install hydradb
  2. Said no? Turn it on later:
    hermes plugins enable hydradb
  3. Restart Hermes so it loads the plugin.

Some plugins also need a sign-in or settings: see Full setup & settings. Memory plugins ask whether to become your memory provider instead. Steps follow the official plugins guide (opens in a new tab).
