Degeneracy Guard

Asks the user to confirm a tool call whose arguments look like a repetition loop rather than data, through Hermes' approval gate (denied or unanswered means refused); replaces flagged degenerate output with a short notice; warns when a session grows long.

Good to know before installing

No network, shell, subprocesses, own threads, telemetry or credentials; writes incident records and a session counter to its plugin data directory; a stream-side record keeps the last 800 characters of flagged output.

How to install

  1. Install it. Hermes asks for any API keys it needs, then asks whether to turn it on.
    hermes plugins install degeneracy-guard
  2. Said no? Turn it on later:
    hermes plugins enable degeneracy-guard
  3. Restart Hermes so it loads the plugin.

Some plugins also need a sign-in or settings: see Full setup & settings. Memory plugins ask whether to become your memory provider instead. Steps follow the official plugins guide (opens in a new tab).
