## What it is for

Browser automation is useful when a page needs interaction rather than simple text retrieval. Hermes documents multiple cloud and local browser routes, including connections to Chromium-family browsers. Select a backend for the actual task and account boundary. A browser that already has access to a service can make that service operable by the agent, so prefer a dedicated test session before reusing an important personal profile.

## What you need

- A supported browser backend with its documented runtime, credentials, and connectivity requirements.
- Authorization for the account and websites involved, plus a clear boundary between inspection and changes.

## Setting it up

1. Choose a local or cloud route and verify the active session's identity. Start on a harmless page with a known result.
2. Define allowed interactions and an explicit stopping point for external submissions. Prefer text retrieval for simple reading, reserving browser interaction for tasks that require it.

## How to check it works

- Inspect the resulting page after each meaningful action and verify important values against the visible service.
- For authorized changes, confirm the saved object or receipt rather than assuming a click completed the operation.

## Limits

- Web interfaces, authentication, and anti-automation behavior can change without notice.
- Cloud sessions can add service costs and data-handling considerations. An accessible page is not permission to bypass access controls or perform unrelated actions.
