## Good to know before installing

Each call opens an authenticated WebSocket connection to the configured Home Assistant instance using the active profile HASS_TOKEN; returned statistic metadata and values become agent tool results and may reach the configured model provider. No telemetry, shell commands, background processes, credential storage or direct database access.

## How to install

1. Install it. Hermes asks for any API keys it needs (this one needs `HASS_TOKEN`), then asks whether to turn it on.

```bash
hermes plugins install homeassistant-statistics
```

2. Said no? Turn it on later:

```bash
hermes plugins enable homeassistant-statistics
```

3. Restart Hermes so it loads the plugin.
