Instant context compaction for Hermes Agent: builds the compaction summary in milliseconds with no LLM call, keeping the exact commands, exit codes, errors and files, each linked back to its original message for recall via session_search.

## Good to know before installing

No network calls, shell commands or credentials; reads Hermes's config.yaml through Hermes's own loader; subclasses ContextCompressor and relies on its private methods, falling back to the stock compressor if they are missing.

From the plugin's catalog listing.

## How to install

1. Install it. Hermes asks for any API keys it needs, then asks whether to turn it on.

```bash
hermes plugins install hermes-vcc-engine
```

2. Said no? Turn it on later:

```bash
hermes plugins enable hermes-vcc-engine
```

3. Restart Hermes so it loads the plugin.

Some plugins also need a sign-in or settings: see the official page. Memory plugins ask whether to become your memory provider instead. Steps follow the official plugins guide: https://hermes-agent.nousresearch.com/docs/user-guide/features/plugins
